    Robotic Vacuums

The powerful and quiet Eufy 30C robotic vacuum originally sold for $300, but this sale price is the best we’ve seen all year. The slim model can fit under most furniture and does a great job at picking up debris, but it requires a longer-than-most run time to get the job done. Plus, it can talk to Alexa and Google Assistant to start cleaning cycles with voice commands.

Why it’s a good deal: This has been on sale for a while, but the price just dropped another $10.

The Shark AI Self-Empty robotic vacuum earns top scores for cleaning both pet hair and bare floors, but it isn’t a good candidate for carpet. Once it’s docked, a vacuum built into the docking station automatically sucks the contents from the bin into a bagless container. The upside of this system is that unlike competitors’ models, you don’t need to purchase bags. The downside is that emptying the bin could trigger allergies. Shark robotic vacuums earn a high score for reliability but only a middling score for owner satisfaction.

Why it’s a good deal: While this is a decent discount, the average sale price we saw in 2022 hovered around $500, so the deal isn’t as steep as it seems. The sale price dropped $15 since last week, though.

New to our ratings, the Eufy Clean G40+ does not disappoint, unless you have a lot of carpet. Its ratings on the carpet cleaning test were only so-so. It does great on bare floors, however, and is almost as good at picking up pet hair. And our technicians found it fairly easy to empty the bin once the Eufy made its rounds. You’ll also appreciate how it navigates a room and ducks under furniture. The Eufy Clean G40+ follows a grid pattern and has WiFi capabilities. Eufy, as a brand, gets top marks in both predicted reliability and owner satisfaction based on our surveys.

Why it’s a good deal: This robotic vacuum usually costs $400, but has been on sale for a while. Amazon just dropped the sale price another $10.

    Stick Vacuums

The cordless Samsung Jet 90 Complete vac scores highly in all of CR’s tests and is more powerful than some of its competitors. Our testers like the sleek and solid stand and the digital display that allows you to check the power level, the battery life, and any maintenance issues.

Why it’s a good deal: This has been on sale for a little while, but the price has dropped $60 in the last two weeks.

The “Ultralight” in the name of the Shark Vertex Ultralight HZ2002 refers to its light weight (2.9 pounds) when used in hand vac mode (without the stick). The Shark aces our tests for carpet, bare floors, and pet hair, and does a very good job at edges. Although not as versatile as a cordless vacuum, this model has a 30-foot cord that’s long enough so you won’t have to constantly map out your electrical outlets.

Why it’s a good deal: We haven’t seen this model go on sale in a while, and the next best price is nearly $50 more.

    Handheld Vacuums

The cordless Black+Decker DustBuster Ion HHVI315JO42 is a great low-cost option for small messes, especially for pet owners. It’s top-notch at cleaning bare floors and pet hair, and earns an above average rating for carpet. The crevice tool and dust brush are separate, not combination tools like those on other Black+Decker handhelds, and the lack of an indicator light makes it difficult to know whether it’s fully charged when plugged in or about to die when you’re using it.

Why it’s a good deal: This vacuum typically costs $50, so you’re really only saving about $5. But this is just a few dollars more than the best price we’ve seen for this model, which has sold for as little as $40.

We’re used to seeing iRobot vacuums in our robotic ratings. But the iRobot H1 H121020 hand vac is the first to break into our handheld ranks. It performs well overall and is especially good at cleaning bare floors and picking up pet hair, earning top scores. The rotating brush attachment makes good contact with surfaces, helping boost its pickup scores. It has a trigger that allows you to turn the vacuum on and off, or you can lock it and let the iRobot run. The battery lasts for about 17 minutes when running on high. It weighs just over 3 pounds, which is about average for the handhelds we test.

Why it’s a good deal: This is a nice discount, though this same model was just $149.99 a few weeks ago, so the price may fall again.

    Dehumidifiers

The Midea MAD50C1ZWS checks all the key boxes for keeping your basement dry, scoring above average for water removal, humidistat accuracy, noise, and energy efficiency. Indeed, its only drawback is a relatively small, 15-pint tank, contributing to its mediocre convenience score. To remove the 50 pints it’s designed to handle daily, you’ll have to empty it several times a day, or buy and attach a hose to divert the water to a drain. Predicted reliability, though, received a top rating; owner satisfaction received a average score.

Why it’s a good deal: This is a decent discount for a machine that works very well.

The Frigidaire FFAD2233W1 small-capacity dehumidifier can remove 22 pints of water from the air per day, and the tank holds 12 pints, almost twice the amount of most models we’ve tested in this category. It gets the job done, but the humidistat is the least accurate of the small-capacity models we’ve tested. This is a basic model and doesn’t have an auto-restart feature or a clean-filter alert.

Why it’s a good deal: This was selling for over $200 last year. The current price is about $20 more than the best we’ve seen, and the best available anywhere right now.

The small-capacity HomeLabs HME020030N can tackle roughly 22 pints of water a day with a tank size that holds 7 pints of water at once. Among its many features are a digital display that’s coupled with a timer, frost control, built-in cord storage, and an alert for when its filter needs cleaning. It earns high scores in our tests when it comes to water removal and humidistat accuracy, showing no discernible flaws in performance. Based on data from our member survey, it gets impressive scores for predicted reliability as well.

Why it’s a good deal: The sale price for this model has been fluctuating rapidly between $150 and $180, so snag it from Walmart while the sale price is even better than usual.

    String Trimmers

The Black+Decker BESTE620 has only a single cutting line; it’s meant for dealing with grass along walkways rather than thick brush. Even so, it earns a top rating for trimming and is easy to use, even if it doesn’t clear as quickly as some of the more powerful electric models.

Why it’s a good deal: This is already one of the most affordable string trimmers in our ratings, and this discount makes it even more appealing. Wev’ve seen the price dip below $50, however, so if you can wait it may drop again.

Milwaukee is a brand best known for contractor-grade saws and drills, but the 2828-21 string trimmer proves the company is making inroads into the outdoor tool space. What’s particularly impressive about this model is that it offers stellar performance (including top marks for trimming and edging) while using a small 18-volt battery. That helps keep the string trimmer’s weight down. But more importantly, that same battery can power saws and cordless drills from Milwaukee, which is a rarity because most battery-powered outdoor tools use bulky batteries of a much higher voltage.

Why it’s a good deal: This trimmer usually retails for over $250, making this a hefty discount.

    Lawn Mowers

Your neighbors will thank you for using an Ego LM 2135 because it’s very quiet at 25 feet away and at the ear of the user. While this unit is often a bit expensive as far as push mowers go, its performance rates highly for mulching, cut evenness, and handling. It also earns nearly as impressive ratings in bagging and side discharging. Run time is as long as 50 minutes, enough to cover about a quarter of an acre in one go. What’s more, the battery can be fully charged in just over an hour.

Why it’s a good deal: This is a modest discount, but if you want a quiet mower, you might as well save $50.

The zero-turn Ego ZT4204L is pricey but impressive. It earns Excellent scores for side discharging, mulching, and handling. It’s also quieter than a standard gas-riding mower. The ZT4204L runs for about 80 minutes on one charge, enough to potentially get through an acre depending on the terrain. Charge time is a relatively short 3 hours. This model sports a high-backed seat and reverse cutting, and has a washout port. But the relatively narrow 42-inch deck means longer mowing times. Battery-powered zero-turn mowers haven’t been on the market long enough to be scored for owner satisfaction or reliability. This one has a long 5-year warranty.

Why it’s a good deal: A $500 discount is only about 10 percent off, but it’s still a good chunk of change to save on a formidable riding mower like this.

    Air Purifiers

The portable Blueair Protect 7470i features a handy filter indicator to alert you when you need to change or clean the filter. It also has a dirt sensor and three speeds. On its highest setting, it’s terrific at removing dust, pollen, and smoke, but expect a bit of noise. Try it on low and you’ll have more quiet while still experiencing solid results. This model is designed for floor or tabletop use in a space that’s about 420 square feet. It costs about $140 a year to maintain and weighs just under 28 pounds.

Why it’s a good deal: We’ve recently seen this model sell for as low as $300 on Amazon, but this is still a great price.

    Cordless Drills

This 20-volt Skil DL529303 cordless drill has been on sale for a few weeks. But until recently, the lowest price we saw was $95, so this is a price worth considering. In CR’s tests, it makes fast work of drilling holes and driving fasteners. It’s also light and comfortable to hold, and weighs a little over 3 pounds. It comes with only one lithium-ion battery but charges very quickly, and it has an LED work light and a belt hook. This model comes with a generous 5-year warranty.

Why it’s a good deal: Amazon recently had an on-page coupon that took an additional $30 off the price, which was the best price we’ve ever seen. So you may want to add this to your cart or wishlist and check back for a bigger discount.

This 24-volt cordless drill from Flex features a half-inch chuck and a 5.0-amp-hour battery, standard, for long run times. At almost 6 pounds, it’s heavier than nearly all the competition, but it offers unmatched performance. It aces many of our tests while still costing less than many other models in its class.

Why it’s a good deal: A $50 discount puts the price for this powerful drill under $200. It’s available only at Lowe’s for this price.
