Coffee Makers
The Nespresso VertuoPlus offers a superb brewing range as well as solid first-cup speed and temperature consistency. In terms of features, this machine comes equipped with a removable water reservoir, a height-adjustable drip tray, and an auto-shutoff function. And Nespresso pod coffee makers earn top ratings for owner satisfaction and reliability in our member surveys. This machine uses Nespresso’s VertuoLine pods, not the OriginalLine other models use, so make sure you choose the correct pods.
Why it’s a good deal: This is the first time this model has been on sale in months, and it’s only $5 more than the best price we’ve seen.
The Ninja Specialty CM401 is one of the most versatile coffee makers we’ve tested. This terrific all-in-one machine is capable of brewing hot and iced coffee, lattes, macchiatos, and other specialty brews. In our tests, it receives the highest possible marks for brew performance, and its glass carafe handles comfortably. This model is easy to clean and comes packed with features, including an over-ice brew mode for iced coffee, a built-in milk frother, brew-strength control, and brew-size adjustment for everything from travel mugs to full carafes.
Why it’s a good deal: The price for this coffee maker typically fluctuates between $140 and $170, making this a decent discount. Right now, it’s back to the lowest price we’ve seen all year, making it a great time to buy.
As its name suggests, the Keurig K-Duo Plus pulls double-duty as a single-serve K-Cup brewer and a drip coffee maker with a stainless steel carafe. It performs superbly in our pod tests and decently in our drip tests. Its features include a multiposition removable water reservoir, a height-adjustable drip tray, auto-shutoff, and programming.
Why it’s a good deal: This coffee maker is at a great discount, but it was $10 less last week, so you may be better off adding to your cart or wishlist and coming back later to see if the price drops again.
For a brewer with a thermal carafe, consider this deal on the Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew BVMC-PSTX91. Our tests show that thermal carafes aren’t as easy to hold and pour as glass carafes, but this machine still performs decently for handling. It also offers great brew performance and is quite easy to clean and use.
Why it’s a good deal: This model hasn’t been discounted by this much in weeks, matching the best price we’ve seen.
The Keurig K-Elite K90 is the best Keurig-branded pod brewer in our ratings. Its first-cup brew speed is a tad slow, but this Keurig makes up for it with great temperature and size consistency (meaning you get the same amount of coffee in every brewed cup). It packs plenty of features, too, including programming, auto-shutoff, an iced-coffee brewing mode, a removable reservoir, and a height-adjustable drip tray.
Why it’s a good deal: This is a modest discount. The Keurig’s price was $60 lower during the holidays, and it could drop back down again closer to Memorial Day.
The Primula Burke Cold Brew Coffee Maker is the least expensive cold-brew coffee maker in our ratings—and it’s one of the best. It comes with a glass carafe, and most of its parts are dishwasher-safe. It’s the only model that calls for a full 24-hour brew time, but you might find the results to be worth the wait. It’s on sale for about $5 off its usual $18 list price. Considering all the high-priced Starbucks cold brews you’ll be skipping, this coffee maker will quickly pay for itself.
Why it’s a good deal: This cold brew maker usually sells for $18, so it’s already a budget-friendly option, and now you can save on the Blue version.
Air Fryers
The Dash Digital Tasti Crisp is small but mighty. At a measured capacity of 1.9 quarts and a footprint of less than a square foot, this 6-pound model is one of the most compact air fryers in our ratings. Still, it ranks among the best, earning solid scores for controls and cleaning, and acing our noise test. It shares the honor of being the quietest air fryer in our ratings, along with its analog counterpart, the Dash Express Tasti Crisp.
Why it’s a good deal: We’ve seen this model sell for as low as $56 during big sales events, so you may be able to save a few more dollars if you wait till Memorial Day, but this is a great price right now.
The top-rated GoWise GW22731 air fryer has a measured capacity of 4.9 quarts. Its touch buttons and programmed settings are among the easiest to see and use. And this is one of the quietest air fryers we’ve tested. But the exterior’s crevices and the basket’s nooks and crannies take some effort to clean.
Why it’s a good deal: We usually see this model for about $80, so this is a great opportunity to save.
One of the lightest large-capacity air fryers we recommend, the Gourmia GAF686 Digital is a top performer in CR’s air fryer tests. Though its measured capacity is 4.3 quarts, its overall size is equivalent to some smaller-capacity models. In addition to being a standout for its user-friendly controls, it’s a stellar pick because of its relatively low noise levels and its ease of cleaning. It comes with a one-year warranty.
Why it’s a good deal: The price for this air fryer just dipped nearly $10 compared with last week. However, we’ve seen this model for $45 within the past month, so you may want to keep this one on your list in case it drops again.
The electronic controls and programmed settings on the Ninja AF101 are among the easiest to see and use, earning high ratings in our assessments. Cleaning the inside and outside is fairly simple, and the measured capacity of this model is just about average at 3 quarts. Bear in mind that this model runs on the noisy side, with the fan as loud as a countertop microwave.
Why it’s a good deal: This is a stellar deal at Walmart right now. The $80 price at the other retailers is pretty standard for big holiday sales, too.
The unique tilt function on this Oster model rotates your food for you, taking away the need for manual turns and contributing to an even crisp. That feature already sets it apart from most of the other air fryers in our ratings. But on top of that, it receives great scores in all our testing categories, it’s dishwasher-safe, and has a measured capacity of 5 quarts. That means it’s great for families.
Why it’s a great deal: This titanium-infused air fryer (read: easy cleaning) is still on discount.
Blenders
As its Category 5 name suggests, this gunmetal-finish Cuisinart Hurricane Pro blender is noisy, but its commercial-grade horsepower takes blending to the next level. In fact, it’s Cuisinart’s most powerful blender. With variable speed control from 1,500 rpm to a turbo-boosting 30,000 maximum blending power, it also features automatic load sensing, adjustable presets, a digital display, and a memory-setting function. It comes with an extra-large 64-ounce Tritan plastic jar that’s free of bisphenol A (BPA) and has a soft-grip handle.
Why it’s a good deal: This is a large discount. We saw this model for $300 just a few weeks ago.
The All-Clad KZ750D aces our soup purée tests and is very good at blending frozen fruit and yogurt for smoothies. It operates at variable speeds, including a turbo speed, and comes with a one-year warranty.
Why it’s a good deal: All-Clad sales are rare, so a 29 percent discount on this handheld blender is more than worth checking out.
The Vitamix One is the brand’s simplest blender, so it’s not intended for preparing hot soups or thick nut butters. But it thrives with smoothies, sauces, dips, and frozen desserts. The blender is streamlined yet high-performance, with intuitive controls, a 32-ounce jar, a removable lid plug, and a tamper to push ingredients into its durable stainless steel blades. Like many Vitamix blenders, it’s noisy, but power prevails as it breaks down veggies and frozen fruits.
Why it’s a good deal: This is a nice discount, but if you can wait, the price may drop again. We saw the Vitamix One for as low as $130 last month.
Vitamix blenders are top-of-the-line—and while the Ascent A2500 doesn’t land at the very top of our ratings, it can heat, chop, grind, blend, and emulsify with the best of them. This model offers three versatile settings for smoothies, hot soups, and frozen desserts. Guided by a digital timer, variable speeds, and a pulse feature, it fine-tunes recipes and eliminates any manual guesswork. Each program automatically adjusts to the size of your container, blends or purées, and shuts off when finished. Wireless connectivity allows you to pair the machine with compatible self-detect containers and other innovations that may come along.
Why it’s a good deal: This sale price is a big drop in recent weeks, though the lowest we’ve seen was about $460, so the price may drop again during the next big sales moment.
Food Processors and Choppers
The 720-watt Cuisinart Custom 14 DFP-14BCNY garners a top rating for chopping, meaning it consistently chopped onions and nuts into midsized pieces in our lab. It’s also a strong performer when it comes to shredding, slicing, and grating, and it’s one of the quietest models we’ve tested. It has a 14-cup capacity and stands almost 16 inches high. Many of the food processors we’ve evaluated operate with touch buttons, but this one has levers—one for on, the other for pulsing and off.
Why it’s a good deal: This is a hefty discount from the original price.
The 500-watt KitchenAid KFP1318BM food processor masters our tests for chopping and shredding, and it’s one of the lower-priced options to boast a fairly large capacity of 13 cups. Of the big guys, it’s the lightest weight, tipping the scales at just 8.3 pounds (weighing less than the weight of some models). That makes it a compelling choice if you plan to store it in a cabinet and lift it out for each use.
Why it’s a good deal: This is a modest discount, and you may see a better price closer to Memorial Day.
With variable speeds, dial controls, and a reversible shredding and slicing disc, the NutriChef NCFP8 is not one to miss. Although the model doesn’t fare as well when it comes to grating, it still manages a very good rating in overall performance in Consumer Reports’ tests. You’ll find a dough blade plus whipping and juicing attachments included with the food processor.
Why it’s a good deal: Already a budget-friendly option, this trusty model is $20 off at Amazon.
Toasters and Toaster Ovens
The Cuisinart Deluxe Convection TOB-135N Toaster oven stands out for how well it toasts a full batch of bread (four slices fit in this model) and does a pretty impressive job baking muffins and cookies. But it’s just so-so at reheating, so expect to wait a while for those cold leftovers to be warmed through. This 1,800-watt toaster oven has a temperature range of 150° F to 500° F and three rack positions. Beyond bake, broil, and bagels, there are settings for keeping warm and reheating.
Why it’s a good deal: A nearly 20 percent discount is always worth consideration.
The Dash Clear View toaster’s clever see-through side panel makes it easy to monitor your slices, making charred toast a thing of the past. And you won’t have to wait too long for it to pop up; this model does very well in our toasting-time test. One downside: It gets only middling marks in our cleaning test, so you may have to put in a little extra effort to get crumbs out of its nooks and crannies.
Why it’s a good deal: This is a decent discount, especially in the yellow colorway.
Coffee Accessories
The Bodum Bistro Electric Burr Coffee Grinder earns solid scores in all our grind-performance tests, and it’s particularly great at producing coarse grounds, which are ideal for cold-brew and French-press coffee. This model is also easy to clean, but its controls are a bit unintuitive, and it’s one of the noisier grinders in our ratings. The Bodum features 12 grind settings, an auto-stop feature, and a timer.
Why it’s a good deal: The sale price for the white version is the lowest it has ever been.
Instant Milk Frother
When you think of the brand Instant Pot, its line of multi-cookers usually comes to mind, but the company has branched out into coffee makers and frothers. Its wallet-friendly Instant Milk Frother was one of the best models in our at-home review, offering performance almost on a par with the Nespresso Aeroccino4 milk frother, which costs more than twice as much. The only downside is that the Instant Milk Frother isn’t dishwasher-safe because its controls are built into the side of the carafe. Cleaning is still a breeze, though; you just need to hand-wash it with a wet cloth.
Why it’s a good deal: This milk frother originally cost $50 and used to go on sale for around $40. This is the lowest price we’ve ever seen for this model.
Vacuum Sealers
Earning top marks for dry-food sealing and speed, the Geryon E2900-MS is a relatively quiet vacuum sealer. While it lacks storage for plastic rolls, it comes with them for making custom-sized bags. The device’s control buttons are sensitive to the touch, and it features an accessory port and hose for vacuum-sealing containers with special lids.
Why it’s a good deal: With the on-page coupon, this beats the previous low price by a few dollars.
Microwaves
Small microwaves tend to be underpowered, and the Commercial Chef CHM770B is no exception. But it may be all you need for a college dorm or home office. This one is a champ at heating evenness, acing our mashed potato test, but it’s a slowpoke at heating a simple bowl of water. It’s average at defrosting and pretty quiet. And for the price, it’s worth a look.
Why it’s a good deal: With the code FRIEND15, you can take an extra $9 off, the best price available for this microwave.
Small microwaves are typically underpowered compared with large and midsized models. That said, the Insignia NS-MW07BK0 performs better than most small models. In our tests, this model’s heating evenness and defrosting earn favorable ratings. And it’s very quiet. But if you’re in a hurry for your food, you’ll have to wait because its score for speed of heating is disappointing. Insignia countertop models receive a very good rating for predicted reliability but a bottom rating for owner satisfaction in CR’s member surveys.
Why it’s a good deal: This is already a great price for a countertop microwave that can perform well, but this discount makes it even more appealing.
